Self-driving cars can soon detect slippery road surfaces
This winter, the self-driving car of the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute (FGI) of the National Land Survey of Finland (NLS) will operate in normal traffic to collect data about challenging traffic conditions. It allows researchers to train AI to detect any slippery parts of the road and other adverse factors to help autonomous vehicles also operate in winter conditions in the future.

Unveiling the Origin of the First Instrumentally Recorded Iron Meteorite Fall
A fireball observed over Sweden in 2020 produced a rare iron meteorite. In a recent study, Ukrainian and Finnish researchers calculated the iron meteorite's orbit and possible origin that shed light on the early stages of our solar system's formation. As a result, this is the very first iron meteorite with known orbit.
