Apply for the registration of a right to use an owner apartment

You can only apply for the registration of a right to use an owner apartment in these situations:

  • a widow’s right of possession
  • right of use based on a will.

Note: If the right of use has been agreed in a deed of sale or gift, it does not need to be registered in the Residential and Commercial Property Information System.

The registration of the right of use protects your rights, as the apartment owner cannot sell the apartment or apply for a pledge registration for it without your consent.

The right to use an owner apartment is entered in the Residential and Commercial Property Information System. After this, the right of use can be seen as a restriction in the printout of owner apartments and the list of shares.

You can apply for the registration of the right of use if the housing company has been entered in the Residential and Commercial Property Information System.

A widow’s right of possession

Apply for the registration of your right of use if you have become widowed and you have your shared home or another owner apartment suitable for use as a home in your possession.

Right of use based on a will

The right of use is based on a condition defined in a will. Apply for the registration of your right of use if you have obtained a right to use an owner apartment in a will.
