The National Land Survey has produced a new interface service for the hydrography theme as specified in the INSPIRE Directive concerning the European spatial data infrastructure. The name of the interface service is INSPIRE Hydrography (OGC API Features). There is an existing wfs service for the same theme, Download Service (WFS) for Hydrography Theme. The old service remains in use.
The contents of the new service match those of the old one. In the service, water areas are shown as polygons and watercourses, shoreline constructions, rapids and dams as lines. The service is compliant with the requirements of the INSPIRE Directive and it is provided in English. Map layers available in the service:
- Standing water
- Shoreline construction
- Watercourse
- Rapids
- Land-water Boundary
- Dam or weir
The service also complies with the requirements for mass downloads as specified in the implementing regulation on high-value datasets concerning the Directive on open data.
The new service is available at the following address: https://avoin-paikkatieto.maanmittauslaitos.fi/inspire-hydrography/features/v1/
The service is fully open and does not require an API key.
