On this page, you can check whether applications for registration of properties and apartments can be signed electronically and which signatures are allowed for signing documents.
Accepted electronic signatures
To electronically sign an application for registration, the following methods are accepted:
- Certificates approved by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency, that is ID cards or organisation cards of authorities
- Qualified electronic signatures (QES) in line with the eIDAS Regulation and approved by other EU countries
- Signatures made in the Property Transaction Service
All documents related to applications for registration cannot be signed electronically, because they are subject to formal requirements provided for by law. Such documents are, for instance, last wills and testaments and distributions of estates.
The formal requirements are not as strict in all documents. A purchasing authorisation for a property or lease can even be oral – therefore, other types of signatures are allowed in purchasing powers of attorney.
More information about various electronic signatures in line with the eIDAS Regulation is available on the website of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. All signature services that fulfil the criteria in the eIDAS Regulation can be found on the website of the EU Commission.

Delivery of electronically signed document
An electronically signed document should be delivered in electronic format, so that the certificate and integrity of the signature can be checked afterwards.
You can check the level of signature of an electronically signed document in the Digital and Population Data Services Agency's checking service.
The National Land Survey can, if necessary, ask to resend an electronically signed document to validate the integrity of the signature.
