Automated decision-making

We make use of automation in decision-making in some of our services. Automated decision-making means that your matter will be resolved with the help of automation.

What is automated decision-making?

Automated decision-making is based on strict processing rules to ensure that the decision-making process will not discriminate against anyone, for example.

A matter can only be resolved automatically if the decision can be made directly on the basis of the application. The matter will be transferred to an application officer if further information is needed or if the decision is negative.

What does this mean for you?

Automated decision-making significantly speeds up the processing of your matter, and you may receive a decision right away. The decision you receive will indicate whether your matter was automatically decided.

Which matters can be automatically decided?

Automated decision-making is only used in some of our services. A decision on the use of automation in these services has been made (available in Finnish and Swedish). The decision explains the grounds on which automated decision-making is used and which laws apply.

Currently, we use automated decision-making for applications involving mortgages, the transfer of electronic mortgage deeds and the recording of notifications from authorities.

If you do not want your matter to be resolved automatically, you must apply for a mortgage or the transfer of an electronic mortgage deed using a paper form (suomi.fi).
