Internship positions

We hire about 100 interns every year. An internship is a good opportunity to learn about jobs in your own field and what it is like to work for a large governmental organisation. We are a respected employer and an excellent addition to your resume. During your internship you will not only learn your job but get to know other people, several systems, as well as the role of a large organisation in the functioning of society. We believe that your work experience with us will benefit you later in your career.

When you have completed your internship, it is possible that you can be hired by us. The traineeships are usually scheduled for the summer period between April and October. We have positions open in many locations in all parts of Finland and depending on the job, your working language will be Finnish or Swedish. At the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute FGI the working language is English.

We are hiring summer employees and interns for the following

  • duties within surveying
  • ICT positions
  • research positions at FGI
  • customer service
  • registrations of properties and apartments
  • aministrative duties in Financial Administration and Legal Services.

Theses or final projects

We offer our employees opportunities to do theses or final projects to complete their studies. The subject of the thesis or final project is customised according to the National Land Survey's needs in such a way that it meets the goals of the university's theses and the student's curriculum. Our open positions for theses and final projects are listed on our Open positions page, and depending on the theme of the thesis, in the channels of the educational institute.
