Information about properties and boundary markers now on MapSite

From now on, MapSite shows more information about properties and boundary markers. Select a single property on the map to highlight its boundaries and boundary markers on the map.

Click on the property to see information about the entire property, such as property identifier, name, and municipality where the municipality is situated.

Click on the number of a boundary marker to see more detailed information about a single boundary marker. The following information about boundary markers is shown:

  • Number
  • Structure (e.g., pipe, bolt, one stone)
  • Location, i.e., boundary marker coordinates in the ETRS-TM35FIN coordinate system
  • Estimated positional accuracy
  • Relationship to ground level (e.g., visible, buried)
  • Existence (e.g., existing, missing, unknown)
  • Source material
    • Cadastral survey (2020 ->)
      • The information has been measured in 2020 or later.
    • The information has not been confirmed.
      • The information has been measured before 2020 and is not accurate.

The information about boundary markers has been collected from several different sources. The newer the boundary marker information is, the more accurate it is. If the location of the boundary marker has been measured before 2020, the coordinate information shows the following text: "The information has not been confirmed."

How to show property information

You can search property information in two ways:

  • Enter the property identifier in the search field on MapSite. In the search results, select the correct property to highlight it on the map. If you want to look at information about neighbouring properties as well, activate cadastral boundaries in the map layer menu and click on the property whose information you want to look at.
  • Move on the map to desired area and activate cadastral boundaries in the map layer menu. When you zoom in enough and click on a property on the map, the boundaries of the property will be highlighted.

If the property consists of more than one area or parcel, all parcels are shown highlighted.
