Housing companies will start entering renovation information into the Residential and Commercial Property Information System this summer

In June this year, property managers will have the opportunity to enter information concerning maintenance and renovation work in housing companies in the Residential and Commercial Property Information System. The baseline information for renovations completed earlier must be in the system by 30 June 2026.

In future, property managers will maintain the maintenance and renovation information of their housing companies into the Residential and Commercial Property Information System. Starting in December this year, shareholders' loan and maintenance charge information will also be entered in the system. The obligation to report information depends on the size of the housing company, and whether it has taken out a housing company loan. In future, renovation and loan information must be updated in the system at least once a year.

Good progress in the testing of data transfer with software providers

For data transfer to work smoothly between different systems, development and testing work began with software providers last year. The reporting of information has been developed, and interfaces for reporting housing companies’ maintenance and renovation information have been tested. In addition, software providers will build the necessary connections from their own systems to the Residential and Commercial Property Information System.

Software providers still have work to do, but there has been progress. At Visma Sirius, the testing of the Hausvise housing management system has been successful.

“The testing has been successful so far. Testing must be more extensive and thorough because the Residential and Commercial Property Information System is now also used by other parties, and the flow of information takes place in both directions,” says Business Development Specialist Simo Hirvonen at Visma Sirius.

EstateApp’s clientele consists of more than 6,000 housing companies, which accounts for about 11% of all housing companies that subscribe to housing management services in Finland.

“We’ve entered almost half the housing companies in the Residential and Commercial Property Information System in a suitable format. We’ll transfer the rest within a few months,” says Chief Operating Officer Nico Hötti at EstateApp.

Avaa.io has created the capabilities for the transfer of maintenance and renovation information.

“Our capabilities are good, and the testing has been successful. The schedules for starting the entry of maintenance and renovation information in the Residential and Commercial Property Information System are well aligned with the version update of Avaa’s maintenance module. We strive to make the entry of renovation information in the Residential and Commercial Property Information System as smooth as possible for property managers,” says CEO Jani Neulaniemi at Avaa Solutions Oy.

Committed to the schedule; tools deployed this year

Although the full volume of testing has yet to be achieved, development and testing will continue with software providers until June, when transfers begin. The software providers know the schedule.

“Schedule-wise, we’re doing well and will be releasing more functionalities this year. However, we strive to publish functionalities carefully so that our customers have the correct and best tools at their disposal each time,” says Simo Hirvonen at Visma Sirius.

EstateApp will be able to use the interfaces starting this year. Avaa.io is also prepared for the entry of maintenance and renovation information.

When everything is ready, information from housing management systems will be transferred to the Residential and Commercial Property Information System via interfaces.

For smaller housing companies, the National Land Survey of Finland has developed a user interface which housing management can use when entering information. Using the user interface is free of charge for the housing company.
