AirHyperLidar
Hyperspectral light detection and ranging (LiDAR), which combines the advantages of LiDAR and hyperspectral imaging, is a new technology that emerged in recent years. Previous studies demonstrated the potential applications of hyperspectral LiDAR (HSL) in forestry, agriculture, mineralogy, architecture, etc. However, current HSL sensors are ground-based and can only be used in laboratories or short-distance, strongly limiting the applications. In this project, we will provide a prototype of airborne HSL based on multiple-beam scanning technology. We designed diverse outdoor experiments, including long-distance experiments, to evaluate the performance of the developed prototype. The research results will have substantial scientific and technical potential in the coming years. Furthermore, our research will provide an essential reference to develop airborne HSL, even for the design and achievement of spaceborne HSL.
