New Applications for Ubiquitous Multi- and Hyperspectral Mobile Mapping Systems (UbiHyperMapping)
The project studies and improves the feasibility of a new type of remote sensing systems, actively scanning multiple wavelength and hyperspectral laser scanners, in remote sensing applications. These new laser scanning systems allow simultaneous collection of both geospatial and spectral representation of objects regardless of the time and date. Before these new systems, such data collection have not been possible with a single sensor system. The project invenstigations will use both terrestrial and airborne sensor systems in the research. The project also aims to provide better scalability between these different data collection geometries. The project is estimated to open new possibilities to collect and present remote sensing data over all fields of research that already utilize LiDAR remote sensing.
