Unmanned Airborne Vehicle- based 4D Remote Sensing for Mapping Rain Forest Biodiversity and Its Change in Brazil (UAV_4D_Bio)

The objective in this investigation is to develop biodiversity change mapping technologies: 1) using unmanned airborne vehicle (UAV) as the platform for hyperspectral imaging and laser scanning, 2) constituting a complete object model with hyperspectral, bi-directional reflectance information and 3D geometrical structure and 3) time series of complete object models to reveal changes in time. Method will be used for biodiversity mapping and for developing indicators of environmental change in regeneration areas of Rain Forest in the interior of São Paulo State, Brazil (Inside Atlantic Forest) and in Evo research forest in Finland. Project is carried out jointly with Finnish Geodetic Institute and UNESP – Univ Estadual Paulista, Presidente Prudente, SP, Brazil, Cartographic Department.
