Geospatial data analysis, visualisation and user interfaces
Our research group focuses on
- studying novel and efficient methods to process and analyse spatio-temporal data, and
- representing and visualising geospatial data and studing the human-machine interaction and map user interfaces in various applications using geospatial data.
Key research topics
We have used crowdsourcing to enable citizens to locate land parcel markers and to gather human mobility data in accordance with the GDPR regulation. We take part in the production of national map products and topographic datasets and support research that uses geospatial data through wide research infrastructures. We utilize high-performance computing resources and artificial intelligence methods and develop innovative geospatial algorithms. We study the use of geospatial data in both traditional and the newest ways of geospatial representation. Recently many of our research projects have been related to water, from smallest ditches and culverts to freshwaters and oceans.
