In the strategic research project SUPRA (Revolution of Location-Based Services: Embedded Data Refinement in Service Processes from Massive Geospatial Datasets) research on possibilities of cloud-based high performance computing embedded into a location-based service (LBS) in refining massive open and closed geospatial datasets to meaningful information for the end users will be performed. In our vision, by this approach consumer-aimed LBSs could be supplied with new kind of contents based on real-time geospatial analysis. In expert tasks, efficient methods for geospatial analysis suitable for massive datasets could be accessible in such way that, for the decision-making situation, a rich and well visualized image of the analysis results and all associated uncertainties could be available in almost real-time.
